School’s out for the summer (finally!) and that means it’s time for summer swimming to begin! Monday, June 6th the SDMS Seahawks hit the water to gear up for 7+ weeks of training, competition and memory-making.

Below you’ll find details on practice times, the final class rosters and the two dates we don’t have practice (due to the July 4th holiday). We also post a complete monthly detailed schedule (View June’s), so everyone is up-to-date.

Summer Swim Team Information

Novice and Intermediate Swimmers:
10:00-11:00AM – Monday-Thursday (Class Roster as of 6/3/16)    OR
6:00-7:00PM – Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday & Saturday 9:00-10:00PM (Class Roster as of 6/3/16)       

Advanced Swimmers:
9:00-10:00AM-Monday-Friday (Class Roster as of 6/3/16)   OR
6:00-7:00PM – Monday/Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday & Saturday 9:00-10:00AM (Class Roster as of 6/3/16)

High School Swimmers:
7:00-9:00AM- Monday-Friday (Class Roster as of 6/3/16)

Note: SDMS will two days off for the July 4th holiday – Saturday, July 2nd and Monday, July 4th. Practice will resume Tuesday July 5th.

Additional Information
Swim team members and lessons participants should plan on bringing competition goggles to practice. These goggles are different from a scuba style goggle since they don’t cover the nose with a plastic piece. Our swimmers are taught to breathe properly while in the water from the beginning and scuba goggles inhibit swimmers ability to practice that skill.

Swim team members should plan on wearing a one-piece swim suit. Two piece suits make practicing starts off the starting block difficult.

One piece practice suits and competitive goggles can be found at most sporting goods stores (including our team sponsor, Elsmore Swim Shop) and possibly some department stores like Target and Walmart during this time of year.
