Club Team Registration Opens August 8th!
The summer season just ended, but SDMS is already gearing up for our next swim programs, the Advanced/USA Elite Fall Swim Camp and the Winter Club season. Read more about the registration options and details below.
Advanced/USA Elite Fall Swim Camp
This swim camp is for SDMS Advanced and USA Elite swimmers. It’s a chance for them to swim four days a week to stay in swimming shape for the upcoming competitive season. Spots in the camp are very limited as most were filled by our year-round swimmers. So be sure to sign up early if you’d like a slot!
Camp Dates: September 3-30 (No practice on Labor Day, so we’ll start on Wednesday)
Camp Fee: $45/swimmer (Must be in Advanced/USA Elite practices to be eligible)
Camp Practices: Monday, Wednesday, Friday 6:00-7:00PM and Saturday 11:00AM-12:00PM
Just a reminder: If you signed your athlete up for Year-Round Advanced or USA Elite swimming, they ALREADY have a spot in this camp. You don’t have to re-register them.
Winter Club Season
The winter club season works just like the summer season. The team will go to ability-specific practices and swim at meets against teams around the Des Moines Metro. Plus, there will a big conference swim meet the third weekend in February where the Seahawks will be aiming for a 7th straight title!
Season Dates: October 21-February 22*
Season Fee: $155/Novice or Intermediate swimmer & $175/Advanced or USA Elite swimmer
Please read the practice schedule below carefully. It will work differently than last winter’s season. Now practices for the same skill level are on the same day with the option of a 6:00PM or 7:00PM starting time. Just a reminder, some practice slots are partially full due to “year-round” and “summer & winter” registrations from March.
Tues/Thurs 6:00-7:00PM & Saturday 12:30-1:30PM
Tues/Thurs 7:00-8:00PM & Saturday 1:30-2:30PM
Advanced/USA Elite Swimmers:
Mon/Wed/Fri 6:00-7:00PM & Saturday 10:30-11:30AM
Mon/Wed/Fri 7:00-8:00PM & Saturday 11:30AM-12:30PM
New! Advanced/USA Elite Swimmers practice four days week in the winter too.
*Note: The conference meet is Friday night for ages 11 and older, so their last day of season is February 21, 2014.
Just a reminder: If you registered and paid for “Year-round” or “Summer & Winter” club swimming, you would have already chosen your winter club season spot in March and DO NOT need to re-register.
Swimmers who qualify for the MidWest Regionals meet in Minnesota can practice an additional month and will swim in the big two day meet, April 5 & 6! If your child qualifies for this meet, there is an additional fee for meet registration and practice times. Read this article to learn more about MidWest Regionals (last year’s details). Details for the 2014 meet will be posted in early 2014 as the meet dates get closer.
