The 2014 Beat the Heat meet was held June 27-29 hosted by CIA in Grinnell. Like most USA Meets, this three-day meet allows swimmers to compete against some of the best from around the state of Iowa. Not to mention, all swimmers had the chance to swim in a college pool!

SDMS had 11 swimmers attend the meet and most swam at, or even better, then their personal best times.

·         Will Chase taking top 15 in both the 50 back and 100 free!

·         Aubrey Douds taking top 5 in the 100 free!

·         Courtney Meyer hitting a :32 in the 50 free!

·         Ashley Liening going a :42 in the 50 fly for the first time!

The last USA Meet of the season is Regionals held at Valley High School July 19-20, 2014. This is the last chance to qualify for the Iowa Swimming Championships. Good luck Seahawks!
